In April 2005, Winston & Strawn's Washington, D.C. attorneys and staff moved into their new office space at 1700 K Street NW. The firm occupies more than 150,000 square feet in this recently constructed building overlooking Farragut Square on the corner of K and 17th Streets. The additional square footage at this new location provides the space needed for the firm to continue to expand and flourish in the nation's capital.
Winston's D.C. office is home to one of the nation's largest energy practices, with experience in financing, construction, certification and regulation of facilities and equipment to produce, market, distribute and consume energy products. The firm recently expanded its energy practice capabilities in D.C. with the lateral hiring of tax attorneys with a strong focus on the energy industry. We have also added significant resources in D.C. as part of the firm's focus on building its appellate and critical motions, international arbitration, and Latin America practices.
The firm's federal legislative and regulatory practice, which includes several former Committee counsels, is centered in the D.C. office. In addition, Winston's D.C. office has significant capabilities in the areas of white-collar and complex commercial litigation, antitrust and trade regulation, labor and employment, intellectual property, project finance, environmental law, real estate, health care, maritime law, and international trade.
