Greg Murray is a corporate partner in Winston & Strawn’s Chicago office who concentrates his practice in commercial lending transactions.
Mr. Murray represents numerous prominent U.S. and foreign banks in commercial lending matters. While he concentrates his practice on representing senior lenders in large syndicated secured and unsecured loan transactions, he has substantial experience at all levels of the capital structure and in various forms of public and private debt financings.
He has represented lenders and borrowers in a variety of senior and subordinated credit facilities, cross-border facilities, and structured finance transactions across a wide range of industries, including insurance, manufacturing, retail, financial services, and telecommunications. He has been involved in the structuring, restructuring, and unwinding of multi-tiered credit facilities ranging in size from a few million dollars to more than $10 billion. In recent years he has represented the agent bank in financings aggregating in excess of $50 billion. His ability to counsel parties in structuring and implementing financial arrangements is enhanced by his experience representing clients in merger, acquisition, and securities transactions and by his work as outside corporate counsel to various start-up and middle-market companies.
Mr. Murray’s representative clients include JPMorgan Chase Bank, Wells Fargo Bank, and Bank of America.

Activities
Mr. Murray has previously acted as chairman of the firm’s Associate Evaluation Committee and as a member of the firm’s Compensation Committee and Executive Committee. He participates in the Chicago Volunteer Legal Services Guardian ad Litem program and is co-chairman of Winston & Strawn’s Corporate Opinion Committee.
Education
Mr. Murray graduated from the University of Notre Dame in 1971 and received his J.D. in 1974 from the University of Virginia.
