Jai Khanna is a partner in Winston & Strawn’s corporate department and has a broad-ranging corporate finance practice focusing on corporate lending, structured finance, project finance, debt capital markets, leasing, derivatives and commercial financing matters.
Mr. Khanna's representative clients include global banks and financial institutions, equity investors, asset managers, investment funds, hedge funds, and corporate issuers and borrowers in a variety of industries.
He has extensive experience advising clients on the structure, documentation, administration, compliance, and workout of senior and mezzanine secured and unsecured loan facilities; single and multi-investor, leveraged and non-leveraged project finance and lease transactions involving independent power and cogeneration facilities, real estate, manufacturing equipment, aircraft, transportation assets, and other tangible and intangible assets; collateralized loan obligation transactions; and a range of derivatives transactions, including off-exchange bespoke transactions, financial and commodity swaps, synthetic CDOs, structured repurchase and securities lending transactions. Mr. Khanna also works extensively in developing and implementing sophisticated products that involve complex accounting and tax structures. In addition, he has extensive experience in the securitization of a variety of financial asset classes, including automobile and motorcycle loans and trade receivables, in both the conduit and term markets.
Education
Mr. Khanna received a B.S. in Communication Studies from Northwestern University in 1990. He received a J.D. from Washington University School of Law in 1999, where he was an articles editor for the Washington University Law Quarterly.
