Winston & Strawn's recent opening of operations in Beijing demonstrates the firm's commitment to establishing a Greater China presence.

Located in China's capital, the professionals in the Beijing office offer substantial experience advising companies on the regulatory issues that arise in connection with the establishment, management, financing and operation of their business activities in China. 

Winston's China team focuses on transactional matters, including counseling clients on cross-border mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, foreign direct investment, initial public offerings and project development and finance. The firm's international trade team also has extensive experience advising foreign countries and industries in disputes and negotiations before the WTO and in various bi-lateral and regional trade contexts.

The Beijing team consists of experienced professionals who are fluent in Mandarin Chinese and English and have practiced both inside and outside China.

Winston Beijing received its license in October 2009 from the People's Republic of China's Ministry of Justice. This follows the opening of Winston's Hong Kong office during 2008.
